Short Courses

This is the list of short courses to be offered at MS TCDC for the year 2019. Our training courses aim to inspire, and empower citizens to mobilize, organize, challenge and intervene actively and constructively to re-direct the allocation and prioritization of services to favor the most vulnerable and marginalized. We equip participants with tools, skills and inspiration that enables them to change their attitudes and behavior by overcoming the cultural, mental, structural and systemic barriers enshrined in the fear to engage and to question.

1 Week
The course introduces participants to recommended tools and practices vital for mainatining keen and consistent sight over learning lessons, identifying “what works” or what defines the pictures of success” and discovering opportunities for improvement, scale-up and expansion – towards enhanced attainment of planned and expected results and impact, and effectively meeting identified needs of target audiences throughout a project’s life cycle.
2 Weeks
This a development tool for campaigning and raising awareness for social change. The course will support communication experts, campaigners, human right advocates, journalists and filmmakers to research, document and distribute impact production using audio visual.

This course is designed to equip participants with skills and knowledge tools required in financial management, budgeting and reporting to enhance your financial acumen, decision-making and business strategy management effectiveness. The course is meant for non-finance staff and managers in CSOs, private companies, and government.

This course introduces participants, to institutionalized resource mobilisation approaches. The course offers a complete overview of holistic resource mobilisation as an integral part of institutional development, transformation and communication function in contemporary public, private and NGO sector organisations. Away from traditional fundraising practice, the course is newly reorganized to match current and emerging trends and practices in fundraising methods, know-how, as driven by shifts in technology, donor priorities, the creative alternative “financing for development” options and riding on and advancing the culture and role of modern philanthropy through traditional and new technology platforms.

The course has been jointly developed with our partners; the Humanitarian Leadership Academy and the ActionAid International Humanitarian team. It is a combination of previous experiences and learning offers in humanitarian affairs. Humanitarian workers and those interested in building a career in humanitarian sector work; leaders with political, public service, civil society or business responsibilities; development workers at national and local levels; programme officers working in development and humanitarian organisations, as well as, entrants seeking to enhance their career knowledge base in humanitarian affairs.

The course is meant for people who work in Programming and programme quality, M&E, Programme Quality Effectiveness and Accountability roles and would like work effectively, and people who would like to improve their practical experience in M&E including people leading/supervising M&E processes and practices in their organization. Also for people implementing programs/projects and M&E Consultants. The course has been reorganized to cover contempoary concepts and advanced practices such as results based management, impact assessment, outcome mapping and outcome harvesting in week two.
