MS TCDC trainings are structured around non formal and formal education programmes with strong synergies between them. MS TCDC is currently expanding its programmes in response to the growing demand for transformative and value driven leadership in Africa. In order to support this expansion, we are dedicated to producing diverse media contents for knowledge dissemination, hence looking for a vibrant, motivated professional to take the position of MEDIA PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE.

Location: Usa River, Arusha

Reports to: Social Movements and Organizing Expert

Job Summary

The Media Production Associate is responsible for the production of various multimedia assets, primarily focusing on podcast production. They will work closely with the Global Social Movement Centre team to create high-quality audio content. Additionally, the associate may be involved in the production of print materials such as books. The ideal candidate should have a strong back- ground or interest in audio production, with experience in podcasting preferred. They should be creative, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical production and editing of podcasts in collaboration with other MS TCDC staff and partners.

  • Produce high-quality audio content, primarily podcasts, in line with organizational objectives.

  • Collaborate with the Global Social Movement Centre team to develop engaging multimedia projects.

  • Assist in scripting episodes and preparing episode outlines to ensure clear struc ture and flow

  • Upload episodes to the podcast hosting platforms and assist with distribution where necessary.

  • Assist with the MS TCDC production of print materials, including books and other publications, as needed

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in multimedia production.

  • Ensure that all produced content meets quality standards and brand guidelines.

  • Manage and maintain audio recording equipment and software tools.

  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors as necessary for project execution.

  • Adhere to project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of content.

  • Provide support for other multimedia projects and initiatives as required.

  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative discussions to generate new ideas and

  • Maintain and promote MS TCDC studio (Samora Machel Studio) for wider usage.

  • Support in creating different multimedia assets to be used on different media platforms

  • Support in developing engaging storytelling content such as short video explainers and reels

  • Support in developing and hosting engaging live sessions on social media plat forms such as XSpaces where necessary.

  • Undertakes all other duties as may be assigned from time to time by immediate supervisor or Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Minimum of diploma level in Multimedia Production, Communications, or related field.

  • Proven experience in audio production, with a strong portfolio of past work.

  • Proficiency in audio editing software such as GarageBand Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar tools.

  • Knowledge of recording equipment and techniques.

  • Fluency in English, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Proficiency in Swahili, French, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, or other relevant languages would be an added advantage for reaching broader audiences.

  • Experience or familiarity with formatting and printing books, posters, or similar mate rials would be advantageous.

Terms and Conditions:

The Media Associate position will be subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • The position is offered under MS TCDC’s employment terms with a fixed term contract of one (1) year with the possibility of extension depending on the future programmatic focus and needs of MS TCDC.

  • A basic salary under MS TCDC’s scheme of service – according to experience and education when relevant.
