YELLOW FEVER: Please note the following applies for all passengers traveling to Tanzania:

1. As Tanzania is a country at risk of being infected by yellow fever Health officials have instructed that from 14th January 2008 all HEALTH SURVEILLANCE DESKS in Tanzania have been reinstalled in all borders, ports and international airports. From Monday 21st January 2008 all passengers travelling To Tanzania will be required to produce a valid yellow fever certificate upon arrival in any entry point in TZ. Due to late circulation of notice by Tanzanian authorities, this will be properly enforced at all borders, ports and international airports from 1st February 2008.

2. Please, carry a valid yellow fever certificate with you. The vaccination needs to be administered at least 10 days before travel to Tanzania.

Entry Requirements to Tanzania

A valid passport valid for a minimum of six months at the date of entry to the country is required for citizens of all countries to enter Tanzania. Take into consideration that your passport should have at least four empty pages.

Please, carry a valid yellow fever certificate with you. The vaccination, not required for kids below 1 year of age, needs to be administered at least 10 days before travel to Tanzania.

Afghanistan, Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Chad, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Equatorial Guinea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Palestine State, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Somali Land, Sierra Leone, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Refugee, are a referred country to Tanzania and therefore, citizens from any of these countries or  refugees, are required to obtain a referral visa prior to coming to Tanzania.

The referral visa has to be approved by Immigration Service Department in Headquarters, Dar es Salaam. If you want MS TCDC to process visa on your behalf, we will assist you at a cost of US$ 200. Through our experience, we deliver visa in two to three (2 to 3) week time. Should you wish MS TCDC to process visa for you, you will have to notify us the soonest possible so that we submit the visa applications and obtain it before you travel to Tanzania.MS TCDC processing fees are paid direct to MS TCDC Bank Account.

After getting the letter of approval you will be accepted to come to Tanzania, and allowed to enter the country after payment of the port of entry Visa fee of $50. 

Getting to MS TCDC

By plane: Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA)

We recommend you chose Kilimanjaro International Airport - KIA as your port of entry. Another option al is it further away is the Arusha Air strip located on the other side of town. Check your city of departure the number of direct flights to KIA is increasing (newest routes come from Kigali, Lusaka and Entebbe).

All visitors who have booked airport transfer with us will be picked up from the airport by our designated driver who will be holding a poster with your name at the arrival exit. Keep in mind that arrivals area is sometimes very crowded, and so your driver might be a little behind the crowd. Please walk slowly past the crowd and look around for your name on the poster.

In case of need to call us, look for the public calling booth close to the Arrivals Hall - if you do not carry a mobile phone. For your own safety, we advise you not to take an unknown taxi from the airport. Our recommended taxi contacts are here attached.

By road

Arusha is well connected by ground transportation to different parts in Tanzania, and between Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan with scheduled private bus services.
