New Principal at MS TCDC
The current CEO of MS-TCDC, Principal Ulla Godtfredsen, is ending her fifth and last year of contract with MS by the end of 2006.
For the first time in its 30 year old history, MS-TCDC will now get a Tanzanian Principal. This is Prudence Kaijage who is currently the Director of Training in MS-TCDC. He is therefore very conversant with the challenges MS-TCDC is facing and well-known to our staff and to many of our clients and partners.
Prudence is 40 years old and holds degrees in Social Work and in Organisational Development and Consultancy Skills. He has a broad knowledge and experience base in development issues, training and in civil society leadership and management from MS-TCDC and also from work he did before joining MS-TCDC as a trainer in 1996. Mr. Kaijage was hired by MS through an elaborate and competitive recruitment process in Denmark, where he was found the best suited candidate. He is eager to continue the positive development MS-TCDC has had the later years but also to head those changes which are necessary for the centre to live up to the new Programme Strategy for 2006-10.
MS TCDC is re-advertising two vacant positions
In order to have the best candidates for the positions as Director of Training and Training and Development Advisor, MS TCDC is re-advertising the positions.
You can read more about the two vacant positions on our website under 'About MS TCDC/Vacancies'.
We welcome applications from all suitable candidates.\
The 30th Anniversary
MS TCDC Celebrated the 30th anniversary on 1st of September. Many guests from various organisations attended and the guest of Honor was Geert Holm from the Danish Consulate.
MS TCDC had an extraordinary Exhibition at the centre on the Development Training courses, Swahili Language courses and the Children’s programme. The centre has accomplished a lot that makes it the leading Training institution in the region.

MS TCDC held a symposium on 30th and 31st of August which included our alumni, NGO Practitioners and various speakers from the East African Region.
The symposium was done successfully. The first speaker Prof. Peter Anyang Nyong’o, presented a lecture on 'Political Culture and institutionalising Democracy in East Africa'. The second speaker was PhD, Mary Omosa, who presented a lecture about 'Democracy and Civic Awareness'. Marie Shaba talked about 'Building Democracy - Rights, Roles and Responsibilities of Individuals and Groups'. The last presenter was Dr. Yasin Olum, who presented a speech on ' Regime Transition, Consolidation and Democracy in Uganda: Successes, Problems and Challenges'.
New feature on the MS TCDC website: Staff listing
We have introduced a new feature on our website: Staff listing. It is now possible to see a list of employees at MS TCDC, their title and contact information. The feature is a tool to make it easier to contact the right person within the centre with question and/or comments.
The list is not complete yet, but in the weeks to come, all staff will be added to the list.
