Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, participants will have enhanced their understanding of the principles and issues related to Participatory Forest Management (PFM). In addition, participants will be able to plan, implement and facilitate PFM processes.

 

Course Content:

  • PFM principles and processes

  • Situation analysis for PFM planning (including local democracy, conflict analysis, good governance, and stakeholder analysis)

  • Conflict management and democratic decision-making in negotiation

  • Institutional arrangement

  • Monitoring and evaluation

  • Facilitation skills for democracy and good governance

  • Organisational and attitudinal change

  • Pro-poor advocacy and resource mobilisation
