Course Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will have acquired competencies to combat corruption through a better understanding of the concepts, causes, impact of corruption and intervention strategies for redress. They will also be able to design and implement appropriate anti-corruption programmes and campaigns.

 

Course Content:

  • Concepts, root causes, consequences and impact of corruption on poverty, democracy and justice.

  • Legal and institutional anti-corruption frameworks; Conflict sensitive methods, national and community strategies, civic education and para-legalism.

  • Gender analytical frameworks and mainstreaming approaches in the context of corruption.

  • Intervention strategies & tools for measuring corruption; corruption barometers & indices.

  • Participatory M & E- indicators and anti–corruption base line surveys

  • Action planning; internal anti corruption policies/whistler blower concepts and campaigns.

     

 

Target Group:

Civil society organisations, senior and middle management, programme staff in development & donor agencies, parliamentarians, Government staff at central and local levels.
