Course Objectives:
By the end of Module one , participants will be able to:
- Understand the role of civil society organisations in development of a democratic society; develop skills and tools for the internal governance and management of programmes/projects.
By the end of module two, participants will be able to:
- Discuss and conceptualise challenges facing development organisations; organisational design, leadership skills and human resource management.
Course Content:
Module 1
- The role of Civil Society Organisations in development;
- Strategic planning and internal governance;
- Approaches to resource mobilisation;
- Advocacy tools, policy and practices;
- Result based management techniques.
Module 2
Key concepts in designing and structuring a development organisation; stakeholder values, participation and managing relations.
- Transformative leadership, facilitation of skills and good governance practices.
- Recruitment and human resource management practices.
Target Group:
The course is intended for senior and middle level civil society organisations practitioners and especially NGO/CBOs practitioners.
