Monitoring and Evaluation Consultancy Experience

 
Designing Monitoring and Evaluation Systems Mentor Program for Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF) Partners in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania – Netherlands.  Phase I – 2006 to 2007; Phase II – 2008 to 2009

 

The objective(s) of completed Phase I were: (12 months)

  • To strengthen the monitoring and evaluation skills and knowledge of partner organisations in the countries;
  • To foster an understanding within each organisation of the value of monitoring and how this information can be used to manage and improve their work with communities;
  • To facilitate the design and implementation of a monitoring system and relevant tools for collecting data, documenting and sharing results of each organisation’s both internally and with outside players;
  • To assess and report back the experiences and lessons learnt from the process of providing the proposed support.

 

The objective(s) of Phase II was: (18 months) Ongoing till 2009

 

The main objective of Phase II assignment is to support partners of Bernard Van Leer Foundation (BvLF) on monitoring and evaluation.  The consultancy assignment is focusing on building capacity of BvLF partners in the following areas of Monitoring and Evaluation:

·        Understanding, planning, and implementing monitoring and evaluation processes from community to management levels of the partner organization;

·        Facilitating the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation formats, forums and frameworks,

·        Developing appropriate indicators, M&E tools and systems with target beneficiaries;

·        Assessing and improving quality of narrative reports by partners to BvLF;

·        Evaluating and providing constant feedback in the implementation process; and

·        Performance measurement and quality reporting on progress.
