Intro: 
The Social and Digital Media Intern will play an active role of development of MS TCDC digital, Brand and online community. Under the supervision of the Public relations and Sales Officer.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

MS TCDC is a training organization aiming at building capacity for a Civil Society actively initiating, leading, sustaining and succeeding in popular struggles for a more just, democratic and sustainable world. MS TCDC now offers a number of internship positions for the right candidates to grow their capacity while gaining valuable on the job experience. We are looking for vibrant, motivated candidate to take internship position in our Public Relations and Sales Team.

Social Media and Digital Intern

The Social and Digital Media Intern will play an active role in the development of MS TCDC digital, Brand and online community. Under the supervision of the Public relations and Sales Officer, the intern will maintain MS TCDC presence on various social media platforms and help create and publish content that is relevant to our customer base. He/she will regularly analyze and report on the activity on social media networks as well as the MS TCDC website. He/she will also assist in maintaining the MS TCDC archive of digital images, videos, and other content.

a)Social Media Responsibilities

  • Updates all MS TCDC Social media accounts timely as planned and introduce new ones.
  • Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with MS TCDC.
  •  Posts news and testimonials in a timely manner using the appropriate content.
  • Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and posts them on our social networks in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
  • Updates social media accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from MS TCDC activities and events.
  • Grow MS TCDC online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions.
  •  Maintains current information in Google+, LinkedIn, Booking.com, Relief Web and other online accounts.
  • Completes other social media projects as assigned.

 

b)Graphic Designing & Digital Media Responsibilities

  • Redesigning official documents layouts.
  • Translates ideas into effective design – including print, digital, (some) the web, identity, and more.
  • Assist in brand review and all MS TCDC official documents.
  • Capture and photos and videos to the appropriate server.
  • Organizes digital images according to the purpose (print or web) and designated program categories.

 

Candidates Profile

  • A Diploma or Degree in Business Administration/Marketing and Public Relations, International Relations, IT, Graphic designing or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Conversant with Microsoft applications, basic photo editing and video editing software, and the internet, browsers. Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
  • Familiarity with a mainstream social media platform.

 

 

Attributes and key skills

  • Strong communication skills and fluent in English and Kiswahili, both verbal and written. Any other language skills are considered an asset.
  • High level of cross-cultural skills and flexibility to work in a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural team.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Navision and Social Media is considered a strong asset.
    Service oriented, professional demeanor and congenial nature.
  • Works in a timely manner with high quality in delivery and attention to detail.

 

Terms and conditions:

The internship position will be based at the MS TCDC in Usa River, Arusha, Tanzania. The internship is offered under MS TCDC Internship Policy with initial contract of three (3) months and a possibility of extension for the maximum of one (1) year depending on the future programmatic focus and programmatic needs of MS TCDC. It is unpaid internships however, MS TCDC provides lunch, transport, and minimum allowance.
