Labor Day Celebration on 1st May 2017

MS TCDC - RAAWU Branch had the pleasure to attend the Labor Day celebrations joining the rest of the workers in the world.
International Workers Day, also known as Labour Day offers a moment to proudly salute the Working Class world over. This Holiday dates back to the 1880s in the 19th Century. Presently the Labour Day celebrations reach far and wide across the Globe, although some Countries mark this day in September.
The National Celebrations were held in Kilimajaro region and in Arusha they were organized under the office of the Regional Councilor MRISHO GAMBO, with the Motto 
                     " UCHUMI WA VIWANDA UZINGATIE HAKI, MASLAHI NA HESHIMA YA WANAFANYAKAZI"
                                                               Which directly translates to 
                       "CONCERN OVER INDUSTRIALIZATION AS IMPORTATION OF CAPITAL GOODS FALLS".
RAAWU MS TCDC branch had the pleasure of being in attendance of the Labour Day celebrations that where held at Sheikh Amir Memorial Stadium.
 
The MS TCDC entourage comprised of about 30 Workers from the Center, they left the Campus premises around 8:30am and proceeded to make their way into the City center where they joined other Workers from all over Arusha in a motorcade convoy going through the city.
Furthermore, RAAWU MS TCDC members set up tents and also gave out flyers and brochures to inform people about the Centers Services and Facilities among which include; Short Professional Trainings, Academic programs, Conferencing and Accomodation to mention but a few.
 
During the Launch of the Celebrations to mark Labour Day Hon. MRISHO GAMBO in his Speech informed workers that Tanzania has made progress in achieving income growth and Poverty reduction over the past decade however more has to be done to achieve long term economic development. The financial sector has undergone modernization, and credit is increasingly allocated at Market rates, supporting the development of a more vibrant entreprenuerial Sector and went ahead to  call upon Workers to make use of this opportunity to improve themselves.
Despite the rains, the Day ended with MS TCDC RAAWU members having close interactions with other Workers from and outside of the region.
