Course Objectives

This course/workshop will give you hands-on skills on how to build your organization’s communication strategies through documentary storytelling and make short films worth watching. How to use numerous digital and social networks and platforms to reach, organize and communicate with your target groups. 


Course Content

The workshop will include introduction to the following elements:

● Introduction to filmmaking from idea to final film

● Storytelling in documentary films

● Technical training in recording and editing film with sound

● Digital media and its potential for democratization

● Social media platforms and their potential for activists

● General communication skills

Through a combination of theory, technical training, video diaries and fieldwork the workshop will build capacity for using narrative video as an effective form of action and communication in achieving social change.


Target Group
Staff, volunteers and active members of civil society organizations that work with campaigns, communication, PR, marketing, evaluation and any form of information dissemination in the organization.
