Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to think strategically, develop various types of strategic plans and implement them. Participants will have enhanced their ability to inspire their staff by compelling visions and strategies for clear and transparent ways forward.
Course Content
• An overview of Setting Direction & Strategic Management
• Strategy concepts, definitions, principles, processes and relationship with other forms of planning.
• Developing compelling organisational Vision, Mission, Goals and objectives
• Strategic planning models & tools for strategic planning - Important steps and methods used in developing and implementing strategic plans
• Key frameworks will be explored like One Page Strategy framework; Balanced Scorecards for strategy planning & implementation, and Logical Framework.
• Softer skill areas like Value Based Leadership (MBO and others) and Policy & Strategy Deployment will also be explored and tested out
- Using different management approaches to implement and manage strategic plans – Interactive coaching session looking at the leaders own cases and experiences.

Leaders and managers working in civil society organisations, private sector, government and other development agencies who are involved in developing, planning and implementing organisational strategies and plans
