Course Objectives
- Trainees gain Knowledge and skills of how to effectively lead and manage activists, volunteers and youth groups in achieving social change
- Trainees gain in-depth knowledge on the concepts of youth, volunteerism, globalisation and Social change to enable them effectively lead activists, youths and volunteers in designing relevant activities that could contribute to achieving social change
- Trainees gain relevant skills that could be utilised in leading and managing civil society organisations to achieve social change
Course Content
The course will among other topics, involve the following;
- Understanding how leadership emerges in social movements
- The role of a leaders in social movements and other civil society organisations
- Understanding Youth organisations and youth leadership
- mobilising young people to be agents of social change
- Tools for influencing social change
- Leadership in practice - placement of trainees in civil society organisations in Tanzania
- Analysing challenges involved in leading volunteers
- Sharing best practices of civil society leadership
